Field Notes Expedition Edition is a perfect companion for all your journeys. The memo book features hi-visible orange cover on the front, black cover in the back, with subtle varnish effect featuring a topographic map of Antarctica. The inner pages feature the popular dot grid graph paper, printed in light gray.
The whole book is printed on Yupo Synthetic paper, an amazing water- and tear-proof paper extruded from polypropylene pellets in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Great Journal for Outdoor Activities
Nice quality and good feeling the paper feels more like a sturdy plasticy fabric which is totally fine.
You should only consider that a lot of very inky pens won't write on it.
Ballpoint pens worked great for me tho.

Great little notebook
Probably the best and classiest little notebooks on the market. I really like that these are water and tearproof and they still write on well.
Also cannot recommend mukama enough, I currently live in NZ and its an absolute pain to get anything here or shipped in...not with mukama it isn't.

Great Product.
Great product, but being water resistant means that you’ll have to wait a little before the pen ink dries, otherwise you will find a mess all over your notes.

Note Books for Tough Conditions
I love the entire Field Notes line of notebooks, but I wanted something to carry with me on the trail. These fit the bill perfectly, as they are very sturdy, and seem entirely tear-proof and waterproof. The paper and the covers certainly feel strange, but that's the price you pay for this kind of durability.
If you're out in the woods, or in the rain, or anywhere a regular notebook might get waterlogged or roughed up, give these a try. For what they are, they get my respect and my recomendation.

It's alright.
I ordered these along with a Fisher bullet space pen, as recommended by Field Notes themselves, but it doesn't like the ink from Fisher. IT doesn't dry fast enough to comfortably write and then flip a page/close it to put it back. It smudges the ink quite easily with Fisher ink.
I will experiment with different pens to see what works better, because a waterproof notebook like this nice. It is extremely sturdy though! It gets points for that, but do some research on what pens people like to use with it.

Good product with reservations: when writing with the Karas Kustoms Retrakt pen, the ink spreads and doesn't stick to the pages, resulting in a mess, especially for left-handed users. Dries out over time, but unusable for writing with that combination. I'm not giving up pencils, though, so these notebooks are not being used for the time being. A pencil will work, of course, and probably a basic ballpoint pen, so it's probably a good notebook in that sense.

What I was looking for was a memory/notebook that could withstand the warmth of the home sofa and the harsh weather of the wilderness, and that had a "thing" about its appearance. Field Notes Expedition came closest as a whole. From the extremes, only just have been tried out in the warmth of a home sofa, but the pages have captured things that will carry me towards the wilderness in the future.

I also ordered these waterproof notebooks. High quality and they do match the description. I haven't actually tested them in real use yet but I tested them under the tap and the notebook didn't get ruined. So it probably does what it promises.
Here's a reliable note-taking tool for outdoor work or similar that Tiimar's grid notebooks can't match!

Conveniently sized memo book. Sustainable pages, although not yet tested in the field. Otherwise a fairly conventional notebook, although the attention orange is a good colouring and the moisture resistance adds an extra layer of security.
