Don't buy this if you use fountain or gel pens - won't work. If you use classic ball pens, it's great FN version which can be used outdoor and material-wise it seems like it can outlive me :)
I really wanted to like these notebooks, as I love the black & orange colourway with the subtle topo design. My only gripe is that the material for the pages makes most of my pens smudge up.
High visible and durable pocket notebooks, for many use cases. I have always one with me. Recommended.
A timeless essential presented in a clean and stylish way. The overall look feels familiar, but the execution gives it a fresh, refined edge. Materials and finish are well done without overcomplicating things. It’s simple, functional, and easy to appreciate. A great example of a classic done right.
Always a reliable buy, great small Notebook
I thought waterproof paper made from recycled materials was a super cool idea, but it’s not practical. I know someone is going to say, “Yeah, but you can use x, y, or z pen…” I tried a bunch of pens and pencils and only a couple were able to write passably well. Even those sometimes gummed up. Mostly, the ink was easily wiped off the page even after allowing it to dry for awhile. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to write is conditions were actually wet. Anyway, I’m gonna let my kids play with these, but I do not recommend that you buy them.
Field notes are best notes, but this waterproof are next level

Nice quality and good feeling the paper feels more like a sturdy plasticy fabric which is totally fine.
You should only consider that a lot of very inky pens won't write on it.
Ballpoint pens worked great for me tho.
Probably the best and classiest little notebooks on the market. I really like that these are water and tearproof and they still write on well.
Also cannot recommend mukama enough, I currently live in NZ and its an absolute pain to get anything here or shipped in...not with mukama it isn't.

Quality product, does exactly what's promised. My Fisher space pen works well on the special paper, not sure if all writing things do.
Great product, but being water resistant means that you’ll have to wait a little before the pen ink dries, otherwise you will find a mess all over your notes.
I love the entire Field Notes line of notebooks, but I wanted something to carry with me on the trail. These fit the bill perfectly, as they are very sturdy, and seem entirely tear-proof and waterproof. The paper and the covers certainly feel strange, but that's the price you pay for this kind of durability.
If you're out in the woods, or in the rain, or anywhere a regular notebook might get waterlogged or roughed up, give these a try. For what they are, they get my respect and my recomendation.
Hyvä muistivihko ulkotöihin.
I ordered these along with a Fisher bullet space pen, as recommended by Field Notes themselves, but it doesn't like the ink from Fisher. IT doesn't dry fast enough to comfortably write and then flip a page/close it to put it back. It smudges the ink quite easily with Fisher ink.
I will experiment with different pens to see what works better, because a waterproof notebook like this nice. It is extremely sturdy though! It gets points for that, but do some research on what pens people like to use with it.
Hyvä tuote varauksin: Karas Kustoms Retrakt-kynällä kirjoitettaessa muste leviää eikä tartu sivuille, jolloin tuloksena on sotkua, varsinkin vasenkätisellä käyttäjällä. Ajan myötä kuivuu, mutta kirjoitettaessa käyttökelvoton kyseisellä kombinaatiolla. Kynästä en kuitenkaan luovu, joten nämä vihkot jäivät toistaiseksi käyttämättä. Lyijytäytekynä toki toimii näissä, ja luultavasti perus-kuulakärkikynäkin, eli varmasti ihan hyvä vihko siinä mielessä.
Hakusessani oli muisti/muistikirja, joka kestäisi käyttöä kotisohvan lämmössä ja kairan ankarissakin keleissä, ja jonka ulkonäössä olisi jokin "juttu". Field Notesin Expedition osui etsinnöissä lähimmäksi kokonaisuutena. Äärilaidoista vasta kotisohvan lämpö kokeiltu, mutta sivuille on tarttunut asioita, jotka kuljettavat kohti kairaa tulevaisuudessa.
Tilasin myös näitä vedenkestäviä vihkoja. Laadukkaita ja vastaavat kyllä kuvausta. Varsinaista testiä ei ole tehty tosikäytössä vielä mutta testasin kraanan alla ja vihko ei mennyt pilalle. Eli todennäköisesti tekee minkä lupaa.
Tässä ulkotyöhön tai vastaavaan luottettava muistiinpanoväline jolle ei Tiimarin ruutuvihkot pärjää!

Kätevän kokoinen vihko. Kestävän oloiset sivut, vaikkei kenttäoloissa vielä testattu käyttöä. Muuten aika tavanomainen vihkonen, vaikka huomio-oranssi on hyvä väritys ja kosteudenkestosta lisäturvaa.

Ei vielä ulkona tositestissä, mutta vaikuttavat hyvin laadukkailta.
Mainio tuote. Yksi meni autoon päiväkirjaksi, toinen kulkee metsässä mukana vihkona, johon pystyy tekemään muistiinpanot kosteampanakin päivänä.
