The Guided Field Sharpener is equally at home in your pack, tool box, tackle box, glove box, go bag, boat, quad, or anywhere else you keep knives and cutting tools. It is the first angle guided, 5-stage sharpening solution designed for those who need a compact, complete and versatile field sharpening tool while on the go.
It incorporates 5 stages of sharpening and honing, each with built in angle guides for a consistent bevel across the entire blade:
- 2 Diamond Plates – 1 coarse (220 grit) for shaping and repairing, and 1 fine (600 grit) for sharpening. Plates measure 10 x 2,5 cm
- 2 Ceramic Rods – a 3-position ceramic rod incorporating coarse grit, fine grit and fish hook honing sides, plus a smaller diameter, fine grit serration sharpener
- 1 Leather Strop – conditioned with a micro-abrasive to finish your blades to a razor-sharp edge
The sharpening guides are purpose built for your pocket knives and filet knives, making easy work of sharpening flat, curved and serrated blades – as well as camp tools such as axes and hatchets.
Strong rare earth magnets secure the diamond grit plates in place and also provide a cover for the broadhead wrench and small storage compartment. Compact design and lanyard hole make it easy to pack and carry on any excursion, keeping you prepared with sharp edges when you need them most.

It is, quite simply, the best overall sharpener to have. In fact, it’s a must have. For the convenience, the ease of use, the size, everything. Quick touch ups to the edges of your blades, either by using the different sharpening steels or the leather strop. And you even have the ceramics to play with! Either if you’re into hunting, fishing or whatever, or even just to chuck it into your junk drawer, just get one for yourself.
Very easy to use and fast results. I often cheat with kitchen knives using Guided Field Sharpener instead of my big stones, so...
I mainly use this sharpener at home for my kitchen knives rather than outdoors for bushcraft knives, and it works really well. It is compact, easy to use, and gives great results with very little effort.
I like that it includes all the sharpening surfaces I need, from the diamond plates to the ceramic hone, and even a small leather strop for finishing the edge. It feels like a complete sharpening kit in one simple tool.
Practical, effective, and very convenient. What else would you need?

It's a well designed little sharpening kit, does what it's supposed to do.
I don't recommend this for high-end steels though, not because it can't deal with it but because holding the Field Sharpener for extended periods feels kind of awkward. Every part of the sharpener is cleverly designed with purpose but it's not really ergonomic.
So if you are thinking of getting a portable system for your knives with S110V or M390 steels, this is not for you.
But for maintaining your tools with more reasonable steels on the field, this is a very capable and highly recommended kit.
