A breakdown of the Raccoon TLL 1.0 and 2.0 differences:
- Reinforced structure: Compared with the original internally milled liners, the Raccoon TLL 2.0 now features exposed liners that provide a sturdier frame. This change supports stability during demanding cuts and contributes to durability for everyday use
- Full backspacer upgrade: Instead of the open standoff construction from Raccoon TLL 1.0, the Raccoon TLL 2.0 adopts a full aluminum backspacer. This change increases structural rigidity, helps keep debris out, and provides a solid in-hand feel
- Locking support: With larger and thicker dual stop pins, the Raccoon TLL 2.0 supports a stable blade lockup and longer service life. It is intended to provide secure and consistent performance under repeated heavy use
- Control surfaces: In addition to the original jimping, the Raccoon TLL 2.0 adds dual jimping on the blade and front-handle jimping, offering added traction in multiple grip positions. These refinements provide added control and precision across tasks
- Operation changes: A newly recessed platform around the deployment button reduces the chance of accidental activation. Combined with the optimized thumb-stud placement, the Raccoon TLL 2.0 provides smooth operation
- Ergonomics updates: Additional chamfering along the handle edges, a cleaner choil design, and updated clip placement work together to provide a comfortable grip with fewer hotspots, changing how the Raccoon TLL 2.0 feels in hand
- Maintenance update: The switch to a T8 handle screw supports long-term reliability and makes maintenance more straightforward compared to the original 1.0 configuration
Powered by a springy stainless tension bar and ceramic ball bearing system, the button-operated Raccoon learned new tricks from its master arachnid. The new TLL Raccoon is easy to operate, strong, and secure, and also has drop-shut smoothness.
Made from 14C28N blade steel, Raccoon offers corrosion resistance and durability. It is also easy to sharpen, helping it stay sharp and ready for use.
This knife offers a comfortable, natural grip and a balanced blade-to-handle ratio. The Micarta handles are well-chamfered to support ergonomics and various grip preferences.
