It is the ideal size for small and medium-sized tools. It makes it possible to throw it in your backpack and carry a small repair shop with you. Ideal for bicycle tools if you are going to carry more than just one multi-tool with you. It can also be used for many other purposes. The quality of fabric, material and construction is very impressive. I recommend it without hesitation. It's perfect!
I am using it to mostly hold my collection of fountain pen and it has been very nice to use it for this purpose. I have now a roll of pens that I can easily take with me and still have enough spare room to add extras small tools (ruler, scissors,...)
The material is holding on very well but it does get cosmetic scratches really easily, depending on how you like your things to remain prestine, this could be an issue for you.
I use the tool roll mainly to take pens am critical tools with me, for example in vacation. It really fits medium and large pens. The slide- in pockets do not fit A6 format but anyway you will find a good paper insert.
As always Lochby products are highly useful and durable I own the field journal for many years and line it.
There should have been a zip puller for the inner mesh pocket zip. A thin one, similar to the ones that Bellroy is using, that wouldn't make it bulkier. Excellent build quality, but I didn't find it useful for EDC. Not sure if it would be a good choice for toiletries either. I ended up using it for my cycling tools. It gets bulky quickly as you add stuff in it. Perhaps it makes more sense to use it with the flattest stuff you have, or buy it as a gift for your dad or someone else.
Perfect as an all round tool roll for EDC items to being an ideal fountain pen sized roll also.

A tough, sturdy and yet simple tool roll for whatever gadgets you might want to keep with you. A mesh pocket, three hidden pockets, and an elastic holding stuff safe and secure. A good choice for all kinds of tools from note taking, sketching, drawing, first aid, hygiene to survival gear. I could easily use a bunch of these. I carry one of these every day for both indoor and outdoor use in my rucksack, with note taking-material and as a companion to the Lochby Field Journal. The cover is tough and can take rough treatment. The locking system is simple yet safe and reliable. A trustworthy everyday companion for whatever-gear-needed.
