Meet the new Mountain Panel Loader 22 L. Updated for 2026 with the lightweight and durable 210d nylon 6,6 textile.
As a versatile and lightweight backpack, MPL22 features a handy lid pocket, full-panel stash pocket, and dual side stretch pockets to keep essentials close. The panel-loading design makes packing simple with fast access to a suspended hydration sleeve and two internal gear pockets.
Built with a new abrasion-resistant textile and finished with a water-resistant coating, it offers added protection against the elements. Paired with the breathable back panel, MPL22 is designed for all-day comfort in variable conditions.

The MPL22 210D is one of the most comfortable and versatile backpacks I’ve owned. The size is perfect for daily walks, hiking, travel, and general everyday carry. The harness system is excellent, the organization is well thought out, and the bag carries exceptionally well whether lightly loaded or packed for a full day outdoors.
However, the 210D fabric is a major disappointment. While it feels lightweight and premium, it attracts dirt, dust, oils, and marks incredibly easily. Simply brushing against clothing or carrying the bag during normal use can leave visible marks. After a single day of hiking, the bag often looks much more worn and dirty than it actually is.
As someone who likes to keep gear looking clean and well-maintained, this is frustrating. Outdoor equipment should be able to handle outdoor use without constantly looking dirty. The previous 410D version was far better in this regard, hiding dirt and wear while still maintaining a technical appearance.
Overall, the MPL22 remains an outstanding backpack in terms of design, comfort, and functionality. Unfortunately, the 210D fabric significantly detracts from the ownership experience for anyone who values a clean, pristine-looking pack. If appearance and durability of finish matter to you, this is something to seriously consider before purchasing.
