This Blue Label Redencion 229 keeps the same design, action and fit as its titanium version but brings a more budget-friendly materials. It features a stainless steel frame with a liner lock mechanism, lightweight Micarta scales for a comfortable grip, and Elmax stainless steel drop point blade. Comes with the Skull clip and secondary clip.

The scales come off without removing the pivot, and the knife remains fully functional without the scales, which allows for easy future customizations. Moreover, the left side has threaded pocket clip holes in the liner and hole-drilling guides inside the scale. This allows pocket clip reversal for those who need it, while keeping it clean for others. Similarly, the backspacer has a hidden lanyard hole which becomes usable by reversing the backspacer.

Redencion

The Chaves Redencion 229 (Blue Label Line) is an absolute tank of a knife, combining Ramón Chaves' bold, industrial design with flawless production quality. The premium Elmax steel blade fires out with incredible action, while the heavy-duty micarta handle provides a warm, secure, and rock-solid grip. It is a premium, overbuilt folder that makes a powerful statement both in the pocket and in the hand.

Nice design but maybe not the best value for money

The knife itself is beautiful, however for this price the finish could be a bit better. The liner lock had issues locking up securely, which was mainly due to some sloppy tolerances on the scales (the pivot bushing moves as does the backstop). Additionally the grind was uneven and had a deep spot which I have never seen before especially in this price range. I get that it’s the budget line but if you don’t care about the design you can get something better for your money. When it comes to Mukama the shipping went well and there is nothing to complain about.

Good alternative

I own few Chaves and I really like this Blue Label alternative. Coupled with brass scales it offer now a new look.
