The Evade 1.0 delivers the recognized DNA of the Evade series in a lighter, lower-profile package designed for streamlined everyday carry. A Carryology favorite, the Evade blends understated style with real-world functionality. Refinements include improved shoulder straps, a cleaner and more efficient internal layout, and versatile material options — all while maintaining the durability and attention to detail associated with the Evade. Suitable for those who carry lighter but still need a capable everyday carry backpack with laptop protection.
What's in the new 1.0:
- Redesigned back panel with horizontal luggage pass-through: the new horizontal pass-through lets the Evade be secured upright on rolling luggage, which is useful for frequent travelers who need organization.
- Stretch side water bottle pockets: engineered to accommodate large bottles, these new stretch pockets keep hydration accessible without sacrificing the Evade's streamlined profile. Whether it is a daily water bottle or an insulated tumbler, it stays secure.
- Enhanced front pocket access: the rain flap covering the lower front zippered pocket has been removed. The result is faster access to essentials when needed, with less fumbling or delay.
- Customizable back panel stiffness: for the first time, carry can be adjusted. The closed-cell foam and frame sheet can be accessed from inside the main compartment to adjust the back panel's rigidity to preference. For more structure with heavy loads, keep it in. For a more flexible carry, remove it.
The Evade DNA remains. Same trusted dimensions and volume. Same meticulous construction. Same recognized organization system that keeps gear where it is needed. The Evade 1.0 maintains the core architecture that earned international recognition while addressing details that matter in daily use.
Main compartment:
- Front wall has a 2-zippered-pocket design, with top fabric and bottom mesh pockets
- Back wall holds the padded and suspended laptop and tablet sleeves
- Back wall has a single layered PALS row at the top to allow use of Matroskya and other pouches
Laptop compartment:
- The laptop sleeve design is a hybrid. It is part of the main compartment but is sealed off, creating its own compartment with access only via the top quick access zipper behind the carry handle
- Tested to fit up to a current 16" MacBook Pro
Front pockets:
- Front organizer compartment has 2 sleeve pockets with a large loop field, and a zippered pocket above it
- Loop field is sized to hold existing Type 1 & 2 organizers, sold separately, and any hook-and-loop compatible pouch
- Split key ring and key fob holder
- Top front quick access pocket lined in Nilex
- Bottom stealth pocket with reverse coil zipper
