I use this backpack everyday for my job. The front pocket is very well designed, every storage pocket can be used and has a good retention. I'm very happy with the quick access to my laptop and Ipad withoutopening the whole bag when I'm in train or plane.
I even used it for a week-end trip in Italy as my only bag and it went very well. The shoulders straps are comfy and well placed, and the magnetic sternum strap is well ingenered.
I would totaly recommend it as a 20l backpack that sometimes feel like a 25l in capacity.
The backpack is very sturdy, with a lot of padding. Very well organized, lots of pockets, has places for both laptop and tablet. The orange interior looks and feels very nice. Materials are superb, stitches and zippers are of very high quality.
The problem is it is too big for me, and I did not realize this from the reviews. The shoulder straps are very comfortable with good padding, but they are placed too wide apart. I am of 171 cm height, with normal shoulder width, and still they feel like they are going to slip. The sternum strap helps a little but is not enough. Maybe for a person of 178 cm height or higher the backpack will be perfect. It is also a bit heavy and overally big for my size, but this is the cost of this much padding.
Perfect bag for EDC and traveling. I was looking for a new backpack to replace my Cabinzero military 28 as it has no laptop compartment and almost zero organization. Whitley checks all the boxes, only thing that bugs me a bit is the weight. Nevertheless even if fully packed, it’s comfortable.
I’ve been using the AON Whitley for a while now and honestly it’s one of the smartest backpacks I’ve owned. What I like the most is how everything just makes sense. The structure is solid so the bag keeps its shape, which makes packing and finding your stuff super easy, but it’s not overcomplicated. You don’t feel forced into using it a certain way. The organization is really well thought out. I don’t even need extra pouches most of the time, everything has its place and stays there. That alone saves me time every day. The build quality is top tier. Materials feel premium, zippers are smooth, and it feels like something that will last for years without any issue. It’s tough but still looks clean and low profile, not too tactical which I prefer. Comfort is also very good. Even when the bag is loaded it carries well and stays stable, no weird pressure or movement. If I had to say one downside, the side pockets are a bit tight so you need a slim bottle, but once you know that it’s not a big deal. Overall it’s a very well designed, no nonsense backpack that just works. It made my daily setup simpler and more efficient, which is exactly what I wanted.
I bought this to be used as a laptop backpack, and to carry a lot of small items I need for my job. This has great organisation pockets and feels bigger than the stated volume. Clamshell opening main compartment makes for easy packing for overnight worktrips, for which the size is just right for me. I am of average height (180cm) and carrying ergonomy is good, might not be for shorter people. Very well made too. I prefer the red lining to the old orange. All in all, I could not be happier with the Whitley.
This is a solid backpack!
Quality build is excellent, as well as internal organisational options.
I think it gives its best when fully packed.
A bit too big for my personal usage as an EDC but, again, a great backpack.
