Civic Panel Loader has been the Evergoods bestseller for a good reason. But as the product line evolves, standards are getting higher. In 2019, the Evergoods started planning how they could improve the breathability, durability, and sustainability without sacrificing any of the CPL's signature feature sets or appearance. Over the course of three years, they crafted new custom textiles and revisited manufacturing to achieve a new pinnacle of Evergoods development: CPL24, the next evolution of the Civic Panel Loader.

Custom-developed textile: Exclusive to Evergoods, the bag has custom-made balanced woven textile, which takes the ruggedness of Ballistic 840D Nylon 6 and pairs it with the sleek woven standards of the Civic line. Twisted yarn for increased tensile strenght. Dustproof and easy to clean. Improved abrasion-resistance. Same streamlined aesthetic.
Ultimate breathability: The standard foam is replaced with a new two-layer construction of 3D spacer mesh and abrasion-resistant 50D monofilament woven. The back panel is durable, doesn't pill, won't abrade clothing, and is wildly breathable.
More environmetally responsible: To color the products, most big brands add dyes after the fabric has been developed. For this evolution of the CPL24, the custom textile is dyed at the polymer stage in the beginning of the supply chain, which uses far fewer resources and produces a longer lasting product. Saves water. Saves electricity. Adds color fade resistance
Ergonomic harness: Superior fit resulting from the 3d patterning rides high for active carry and with the asymmetrical laptop patterning CPL24 is exceptionally comfortable even with a laptop inside.
Exterior top pocket: Quick, easy access to smaller items and key leash without setting the bag down. Uses volume above the shoulders and does not interfere with main compartment. Keeps more fragile items up high, above the main load.
Exterior front panel pocket: Vertical zipper allows a larger opening than horizontal or diagonal openings. Vertical orientation allows side access while wearing or from the ground. Internal drop-in pocket for phone-sized items (wallet, passport, etc). Contents stay contained when panel pocket zipper is closed. Zippered mesh pocket for smaller items (change, receipts, batteries, etc). Pen slot holds multiple pens. Small volume accommodates flat items like: notebook or field guide, maps, tickets/boarding passes, etc.
Padded + suspended laptop compartment: Internal padded sleeve is fully suspended on all sides with Velcro strap to protect devices up to 17” MBP. Also has corner cutouts to allow for expansion and escape of debris. Sleeve can be used to separate computer, tablet, documents, etc. Asymmetrical profile of overall compartment allows laptop to be held securely in the lower portion without compromising contour fit around the back and shoulders. Accommodates a hydration bladder which can hang from the small loop provided.
Utility webbing loops: Two vertical rows of webbing at the top of main interior allow you to clip or stow small items like keys, pens, folding knives or attach an aftermarket organization pouch or panel.
Low profile bladder ports: Right and left shoulder ports have no velcro, no elastic, and no moving parts. Easy to use and will not break over time.
EV50 shoulder straps from zotefoams: Zote uses Nitrogen gas in a high pressure process to create foams with small and highly uniform pore size and consistent bubble distribution throughout the material. This yields a pure EVA foam with extremely even density and long lasting compression resistance.
YKK zippers with DWR finish: The RC (Racquet coil) zipper from YKK is specially designed for luggage applications where resistance to abrasion is a must. This zipper was precision engineered to meet the toughest performance requirements.

Evergoods CPL24
Evergoods' flagship backpack has truly earned its stars. Every detail has been carefully considered, and fundamentally, the backpack feels really good on the back. The new back panel (in this V3 version) should be more breathable than in previous versions, but it will be properly tested with warmer weather. In the lower back part of the backpack, there's a small "bump" where the materials are sewn together. It might weigh down shorter backs a bit, but I didn't encounter any problems myself. The new material used on the exterior of the backpack seems excellent. To my taste, it's just the right level of glossy/matte, and the material appears durable; I believe it will also resist moisture well on the outside of the pack. However, the zippers are not waterproof, although they should certainly withstand light rain well. For my usage needs, the backpack offers just the right amount of organizational options. The side laptop pocket and the top pocket work well for office use. The "quick-access" pocket on the top of the backpack is spacious and functional, but I might have preferred to place the key leash inside the larger side pocket on the long side of the backpack. Nevertheless, I've still found use for the key leash. The external carrying handles of the backpack have their own pros and cons. The handle on the long side works well for its intended purpose. You probably wouldn't want to carry the backpack by the handle for longer periods, but it works really well for quick grabs and maneuvering the backpack. The smaller handle on the top is a bit more cumbersome to use. While it can certainly be used to carry the backpack (though you probably wouldn't want to carry the backpack for longer periods due to the sharp edges of the handle), because the handle is so tightly attached to the backpack, it can be difficult to grasp at times and feels like it needs to be "dug" out. However, the advantage here is that when the handles aren't in use, they are out of the way, and I think the backpack looks better without large handles. Overall, I am very satisfied with the backpack, and it seems high-quality in every aspect. Its main weakness is likely its high price, which is indeed high for this type of office/daypack. However, the backpack is suitable for virtually any situation and environment, and I would expect it to last for years with its lifetime warranty. If you like the look of the backpack and are willing to make the financial investment, this is an excellent choice.

Evergoodsin "lippulaivareppu" on tähtensä ansainnut. Jokainen yksityiskohta on tarkkaan mietitty ja lähtökohtaisesti reppu tuntuu todella hyvältä selässä. Uusi takapaneeli (tässä V3:ssa) pitäisi olla paremmin hengittävä, kuin aikaisemmissa versioissa, mutta sitä pääsee kunnolla testaamaan sitten lämpimämpien kelien myötä. Selkää vasten tulevassa repun alaosassa on pieni "nyppylä" jossa materiaalit ovat ommeltu yhteen. Se saattaa lyhyempää selkää hieman painaa, mutta itselleni ei tästä koitunut ongelmia.
Repun ulkopinnalla käytetty uusi materiaali vaikuttaa erinomaiselta. Omaan makuuni juuri sopivan kiiltävä/matta ja materiaali vaikuttaa kestävältä ja uskoisin pitävän hyvin myös kosteuden repun ulkopuolella. Vetoketjut eivät ole kuitenkaan vedenpitävät, mutta nekin kestänevät pienet sateet varmasti hyvin. Omaan käyttötarpeeseeni repussa on juuri sopiva määrä organisointimahdollisuuksia. Toimistokäytössä sivuttain käytettävät läppäritasku ja päällä oleva tasku toimivat hyvin. Repun päällä oleva "pikatasku" on tilava ja toimii hyvin, mutta taskussa olevan avainpidikenauhan olisin ehkä laittanut mieluummin repun pitkällä sivulla olevaan isompaan taskuun. On avainpidikenauhaakin kuitenkin tullut käytettyä.
Repun ulkopuolella olevissa kantokahvoissa on omat hyvät ja huonot puolensa. Pitkällä sivulla oleva kahva toimii hyvin siihen, mihin se on tarkoitettu. Ei kahvasta pidempiä aikoja reppuja varmaan halua kantaa, mutta nopeaan tarttumiseen ja repun kääntämiseen se toimii oikein hyvin. Päällä oleva pienempi kahva on hieman hankalampi käyttää. Kahvasta toki saa reppua kannettua (ei tosin tästäkään halua pidempään reppua kantaa, kahvan terävistä reunoista johtuen), mutta koska kahva on niin tiiviisti kiinni repussa, siitä on ajoittain hankala tarttua ja kahva pitää ikään kuin "kaivaa" esiin. Tässä on kuitenkin se hyvä puoli, että kun kahvoja ei käytä, ne ovat poissa tieltä ja reppu on mielestäni paremman näköinen ilman isoja kahvoja.
Kokonaisuudessaan olen hyvin tyytyväinen reppuun ja se vaikuttaa kaikin puolin laadukkaalta. Suurin heikkous on lienee korkea hinta ja onhan se korkea tällaisesta toimisto-/päivärepusta. Mutta reppu soveltuu kyllä oikeastaan minkälaiseen tilanteeseen ja ympäristöön tahansa ja olettaisin repun kestävän vuosia ja siinä on elinikäinen takuu. Jos pitää repun ulkonäöstä ja on valmis tekemään rahallisen satsauksen, tässä on erinomainen valinta.

Functional, well-made and a joy to use
This bag is great. Particular highlights for me include:
- the very roomy laptop section, in which I can safely and comfortably keep a lot of flat stuff like folders, notebooks, iPad, laptop and much more
- excellent top and front pockets for things I need frequently
- comfy and premium feeling materials
- the side handle is so easy to grab (top handle less so…)
looks great in all-black, but I also ordered from Mukama the Evergoods reflective patches and replacement zipper pulls, and for me the look is now perfect (see pic).

Great design, one issue
Love the design, the only issue is that it presses into the lower back and you have to really place it as high up on the back as possible for it not to be uncomfortable.

Great, unique, but one issue…
Roomy EDC backpack, great also for lighter traveling. Quality and the used material is really premium. The zippers of the main compartment stucks at the fabric on the edges. So be careful about that!

Just perfect
We’ve all been there. Spending countless hours watching and reading reviews, thinking it looks great, but seems too expensive. Well, it’s great! Just the right amount of organization and the right volume. It works equally great when fully packed or half empty. The quick side access functions excellently. Some reviews mentions the rather large laptop compartment, but it’s just a compartment that can be used for anything, really. I’m happy I bought it.
