Nach fast drei Jahren Design und Entwicklungsarbeit hat Exceed Designs die ultimative EDC-Taschenlampe geschaffen. Die Rampant™ R4 besteht aus Titan und ist in zwei LED-Optionen erhältlich.
Die Rampant™-Benutzeroberfläche mit dem hochintuitiven Wippenschalter ist einfach zu bedienen. Verabschieden Sie sich von Stroboskopmodi und dem erzwungenen Durchschalten von Modi, um in oder aus dem gewünschten Modus zu gelangen.
„(Sapphire)“-Modelle haben folgende Linsen- und Reflektorkonfiguration: Reflektoroptik (Metall) mit größerer Reichweite und doppelt AR-beschichteter Saphirglaslinse. Diese Modelle beinhalten auch einen Akku und ein USB-Kabel. Andere Modelle verfügen über Standard-TIR-Optiken und enthalten weder Akku noch USB-Kabel.

Overall a really nice flashlight. The ramping feature is nice but it ramps very quickly so it is difficult to make very small adjustment in brightness. You can also simply just click up or down and it will jump to the next level.
There is no instruction manual included with the light, rather it directs you to a YouTube video which is useful in a sense but I would prefer a written manual for easier reference.
Sometimes the clicker gets kind of caught or you can feel a little bit of friction when depressing it but this isn’t a major issue for me – it doesn’t happen very often.
The light comes with a mineral reflector installed as standard. This is fine but it does produce some odd artefacts especially on higher brightness settings. On a late this expensive I would expect better.
I would say that if you like the design and functionality offered by the light, then this is a really great option for EDC. For tactical use, I would say there are definitely more reliable options out there that also do not cost as much. One example of it not being so reliable in tactical mode is that it is unclear sometimes when it’s going to go on in full brightness and when it’s going to come on in “conserve” mode. I don’t feel like this is adequately explained in the YouTube video and it doesn’t seem to produce consistent results when you do follow what he says.
This is a luxury flashlight and you can definitely find cheaper lights that function similarly or even better, depending on what you’re looking for. For EDC I would say this is a really great option but for tactical use if you’re going to really depend on it then I would definitely choose a different light.
