The original version has the clip attached to the lid, whereas the MKII now has the lid at the opposite end from the clip. This means that once removed for use, the lid snaps on above the clip via its super-strong neodymium magnets, and the clip is now in line with the direction of the pen when in use therefore for a much sleeker look.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFaster to deploy. The MKII lid also has a much reduced thread now resulting in a very satisfying half turn on and off rather than the 4 full turns of the original.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDeep Carry. A further benefit is that the clip itself is now full-size for deep pocket carry and integrated into the rear cap design (that you unscrew to replace the Sharpie Mini), removing the need for the previous screws needed to hold it in place.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eStylish. The MKII lid looks smarter with a contrasting milled finish rather than the previous smooth finish which matched the body.
