Forge-20 is a 3-way commuter pack, transforming to a backpack for comfortable and efficient load carry, to a brief for business, and then to shoulder bag for casual carry.
Featuring weatherproof Cordura textile and YKK AquaGuard zippers, the Forge-20 is a multifunction pack for everyday use that will keep your gear safe and dry. It has a clamshell opening, which means it unzips 360 degrees, so you can see all your gear laid out and well organized right in front of you.
Designed with logical gear access in mind, the Forge-20 has all the organization needed for tech-centric lifestyles. External fast access for essentials like keys, wallet and phones; soft and protective pockets for Laptops and tablets; generous easy-access pockets; and hidden zipper pockets for secure items.
The “Butterfly Back-Panel” makes shoulder strap storage simple, and more importantly, allows room for the ergonomic 3D shoulder-straps. For optimized comfort and load carry: two layers of the same EVA-Foam found in the best running shoes make for an especially comfortable and supportive harness, while an airflow back-panel keeps you cool and dry in the summer heat.
Like all Black Ember products, the Forge-20 benefits from the high-precision proprietary construction. All textile components are laser-cut for precise assembly. This construction yields a super durable, over-engineered pack with a blacked-out, minimal and stealthy aesthetic.

Very good combination of bag and backpack
I can describe the Forge 20 as a very successful combination of bag and backpack. Workmanship and quality appearance are good. The compartments are arranged sensibly. However, the mesh compartment in the front pocket is upside down when carrying the backpack. You should definitely use the Velcro fastener. When used as a bag, the straps for the backpack are hardly noticeable and can be easily stowed away. Even with a laptop and water bottle, the bag is not too heavy or too baggy and is still easy to carry. The strap for holding it on the suitcase is very tight and is between the back padding. This makes it a little more difficult to use and requires two hands. However, it will certainly expand a little with further use and then become lighter. Overall a good choice.
Communication via the web shop and shipping were very good. Even without the express shipping option, shipping to Germany only took 3 days. Many shops can't even do this within Germany. Therefore, all in all, highly recommended.

Die Forge 20 kann ich als sehr gelungene Kombination von Tasche und Rucksak bezeichnen. Verarbeitung und Qualitätsanmutung sind gut. Die Fächer sind sinnvoll angeordnet. Allerdings ist das Netzfach in der Frontasche in der Trageweise Rucksack kopfüber. Da sollte man den Klettverschluss unbedingt nutzen. Als Tasche genutzt fallen die Träger für den Rucksack kaum auf und lassen sich gut verstauen. Auch mit Laptop und Wasserflasche ist die Tasche nicht zu schwer bzw. zu ausgebeult und lässt sich immer noch gut tragen. Der Riemen für die Halterung am Koffer ist sehr stramm und zwischen den Rückepolstern. Das erschwert die Nutzung etwas und man braucht zwei Hände. Es wird sich aber im Weiteren Gebrauch sicher noch etwas weiten und dann auch leichter werden. Insgesamt eine gute Wahl.
Kommunikation über den Webshop und Versand waren sehr gut. Auch ohne die Expressversand- Option hat der Versand nach Deutschland nur 3 Tage gedauert. Das schaffen viele Shops nicht mal innerhalb Deutschlands. Daher alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Outstanding Product quality. Never had a better bag for work. Not unlimited space however so you need to consider what you put in because you run out of space fast, its a little too small for my needs so some of my EDCs are left at home
